Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis


  • Men & Women > 40 years of age
  • Diagnosis of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) established in previous 3 years
  • Standard of care treatment (OFEV, ESBRIET) must be deemed at a stable dose for preceding 12 weeks


  • Current active infection (bronchitis, pneumonia, urinary tract infection, cellulitis, etc.)
  • History of cancer in the last 2 years (exceptions: basal cell carcinoma of the skin, chronic lymphocytic leukemia {under observation}, or in situ cancer of the prostate)
  • Is likely to receive a lung transplant in the next 12 months
  • History of unstable cardiac or pulmonary disease (except IPF) within previous 6 months
    • i.e., heart attack, CHF requiring hospitalization, uncontrolled dysrhythmia
  • If female, pregnant, intending to become pregnant, or lactating
  • If woman of childbearing age, refusal to use a highly-effective birth control method during the study
